The DevCon Team Stands Ready
to Partner with You

Jay Bartram

SALESFORCE RANK: Ranger

FAVORITE SALESFORCE FEATURE: All the automation features. Setting up something so a user does one thing that automatically causes something else to happen fascinates me.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START WITH SALESFORCE? At my previous job, a co-worker discovered Salesforce and shared it with me. At first, I worked on the badges just out of curiosity and for fun. But I soon realized I could do this as a career.

SPECIALTIES: Creating custom objects and fields

EDUCATION: B.S., technical management, DeVry University

CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Salesforce Associate & Certified Salesforce Administrator

INDUSTRIES WORKED/PREVIOUS POSITIONS HELD: I served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. I taught Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at two Phoenix-area high schools. I also worked for 13 years at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

WHY DEVCON PARTNERS IS RIGHT FOR YOU: I joined Development Consulting Partners because I like that I’m not limited to maintaining just one Salesforce org. By setting up and problem-solving on numerous orgs in different businesses, one learns so much more.

FUN FACT: I enjoy geocaching and scuba-diving.

PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Climbing Mount Fuji. Serving in Operation Desert Storm. Retiring from two separate careers.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE: “What you think about, comes about.”—Mark Victor Hansen
(It’s part of the power of positive thinking. I think about the positives in my life; not the negatives.)

WHAT WOULD YOU RATHER DO? READ A BOOK, ASSEMBLE A PUZZLE, WATCH A MOVIE OR MAKE A MEAL? Assemble a puzzle while listening to music. That activity relaxes me. Plus, I like the gratification of seeing the completed puzzle.

FAVORITE COLOR: purple

HOME: I was born in Ohio. Before I graduated high school, I lived in the Florida Keys and Idaho, where I now reside.

FAMILY: Wife, Kristin (two years). I have two sons from a previous marriage and two grandchildren.

GOALS: At this point in my career, I simply want to learn as much as I can about being a Salesforce Administrator and other career options in Salesforce.
